This course covers some key issues surrounding mental health, it explores what mental health is and what mental health means, and reasons that discourage some people from seeking the appropriate help and support. It introduces an awareness of cultural diversity and mental health issues and gives an understanding of how mental health stigma is created and challenged. It promotes a more positive approach in understanding mental health and will enable you to challenge the negative attitudes, stigma and stereotyping surrounding it.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course you will:

  • Have an understanding of what is meant by mental health.
    • Have an understanding of the social and personal effects of mental ill-health.
    • Have an understanding of some of the responses to mental health issues.
    • Have an understanding of how to better support yours and others mental well-being.
    • Have an understanding of cultural diversity regarding mental health issues.

This course contains multiple choice knowledge checks which are assessed and on successful completion you will receive a CPD certificate ‘Mental Health Aware’.
